Shannon Ralston was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. Shannon began her college career at the University of Akron on an Army ROTC scholarship and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a minor in Military Science and History at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.

 

Prior to starting Angel Staffing, Shannon worked in healthcare as a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplants. Shannon often worked 2 or more jobs in the nursing field at several different hospitals to make ends meet as a single mom.

 

Shannon began Angel Staffing 7 years ago in the pursuit of a better life for herself and her young son, Dakota. Angel Staffing is 100% owned and led by Shannon and was incorporated in September 2002. She envisioned her business as an avenue for accomplished nurses and medical professionals to earn what they are worth with the benefits they deserve for themselves and their families.

 

Shannon Ralston has the responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the business from marketing to government contract obligations.

 

In her current role, Shannon leads a team of 22 corporate staffs and 1500 field employees, all working in the healthcare field, with the majority working within private, state and federal inpatient healthcare facilities in the South Texas Region area and throughout the nation.

 

Shannon leads by example, driven every day to create new jobs with fair pay and find opportunities to give back to San Antonio and international communities. The Angel Staffing Charitable Foundation, a 501C3, was created by Shannon with personal funding in 2009 and was recently utilized to send more than 80 Texas based medical professional volunteers to provide emergency medical relief in Haiti.  Shannon claims it is the best 500K she has ever spent, all for the benefit of others.

This Year Shannon was able to successfully receive IRS approval for her non-profit organization, "The Angel HALO Institute" (Humanitarian and Learning Organization). This non-profit organization will focus on educating people state wide on emergency preparedness and disaster response with a focus on humanitarian and medical missions.
