Angel Staffing is a San Antonio based corporation that serves private, state and federal medical treatment facilities, public health emergencies and leads the medical response for all disasters in Texas.

Angel Staffing recruits medical professionals for positions at private and public inpatient treatment facilities, as well as provides disaster response health care workers in Texas.

I had a fleeting thought in the summer of 2002 while I was standing in the middle of a medication room preparing the noon meds for my patients. This thought was the beginning of a life changing time period and a whole new way of thinking. In 2002, I was a single Mom and an experienced Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree that had to work two jobs to make ends meet. I worked on staff as a Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse at one Hospital and for my second job I worked with one of the supplemental staffing agencies picking up shifts at another San Antonio hospital.

The thought that changed my life was, “Why can’t I start my own medical staffing service, different than the other medical staffing agencies and pay the nurses what they are worth and work for myself.” I had a solid education but it was in nursing…not in business. I needed help with my idea and guidance on how to put my idea into action. After weeks of research and sleepless nights at the computer trying to develop a plan, I discovered the San Antonio SBDC. I set up an appointment to meet with them, and the rest is now history in the making. I receive information and attended classes on how to develop a proper Business Plan, how to implement and incorporate my Business Plan, as well as what to do to certify myself and my medical staffing service in order to be in a position to do business locally. 

Over the last 4 years, Angel Staffing Incorporated has grown from 2 nurses on our first contract in Jan 2003 to over 200 medical service providers working in over 15 different medical facilities!

Angel Staffing, Inc. has been closely supported by the SBDC and our representative, Miguel Ferrer, as well as the SBA throughout the last four years. Angel Staffing, Inc. now represents not only Registered Nurses but LVN’s, Respiratory Therapist, Physicians, CRNA’s and OR Technicians. The support provided by Mr. Ferrer through some very tough business periods has been essential in the success I have been able to achieve. Angel Staffing, Inc. has also been certified as an SBA 8(a) certified woman and veteran owned business in this time period. This difficult process was also supported by assistance from the SBDC.

Angel Staffing, Inc. has established itself in the Medical Community in San Antonio and all around the state of Texas as a different kind of medical staffing service. I believe in never over promising and always delivering with excellence. Angel Staffing, Inc. pays our medical staff well above the average wages and offers a complete benefits package with group health insurance and a fantastic 401K. This provides our clients with continuity because our turnover rate is less than 1%. Our nursing and medical staffs are loyal and refer their friends and family to work with Angel Staffing, Inc. In my mind, that is the best compliment a business owner can receive.

Angel Staffing, Inc. is amongst the few staffing agencies dedicated to giving back to the community in various ways to show continued support. We donate to various charities including the San Antonio Zoo and Children’s Charities of Bexar County. Angel Staffing, Inc. has also sponsored “The Rattler’s,” an all-girl youth soccer team, and “The Angel’s,” a co-ed tee-ball team, for the past several years. Angel Staffing, Inc. responded to the ‘Katrina’ efforts here in San Antonio and volunteered our services to coordinate over 750 medical professionals and over 7500 hours of donated services to the city run shelters. I am so proud of being able to give back to the community and the commitment my administrative employees and medical staff have to the efforts Angel Staffing, Inc. supports.

Angel Staffing, Inc. has an impeccable performance history as one of the preferred staffing agencies with customers like BAMC, Darnall Army Community Hospital in Ft. Hood, SA Baptist Healthcare System and SA Methodist Healthcare System along with many other local hospitals and physician offices to which we have provided outstanding staff. Angel Staffing, Inc. expects to climb over 6 million in sales in 2006.
